A good article from Shaka Hislop from the Guardian newspaper. Sheds some light on the Ruud Gullit departure from the Galaxy. I think Shaka was playing for Newcastle back when Ruud was the coach there.
The NBC Olympics coverage appears to be working well. The video experience online has got me thinking though. I’m not sure how much more I’ve enjoyed or used it over watching on TV. Don’t get me wrong, the performance, picture quality and overall content selection is fantastic. The problem might be me?
NBCOlympics.com is a topic of many design conversations right now. One small thing that I wanted to mention was how they flag the live broadcasts on the homepage of the site.
Reading on Soccernet this morning about Thaksin Shinawatra’s (former Prime Minister of Thailand) fleeing Thailand via Beijing because of fraud and corruption charges. Apparently hes being borrowing money to pay wages at the club and they’re now talking about selling players to keep the club up and running. This guy only bought the club around 14 months ago. How does this happen to a club that’s been around since 1880?
Thisisnotajersey.com is an Adidas marketing based site focused on selling the new All Blacks rugby jersey. Couple of interesting things for me here …
We’ve just launched a new score strip on NFL.com. The functionality is similar to last seasons, the focus was to improve the visual and information design, and to get a maximum of 16 games to fit in the space. Looks like it’s survived the first weekend of preseason games.
I was browsing through the news headlines on the CNN homepage and noticed the t-shirt icons after some stories. Initially I had no idea what it was supposed to signify. Could it be related to Olympic team news? Could it be something to do with First Aid? I clicked through and ended up at CNN Shirt.
Examples of my work will be posted here shortly.

What I mean to say is: Paintball might not be on ESPN on Saturday afternoons soon as it looks like ESPN Classic will start showing classic FA Cup Finals online. I’m not sure if this is in Europe or in the US? Either way, it feels like progress. One of these days we won’t have to watch paintball on a Saturday afternoons on the US based ESPN channels.
Looks like Ronaldo will be staying with Man U for at least one more year. Be very interesting to see the response he receives in Old Trafford in a few weeks. I guess it’s a good thing, he scored 42 goals last year, and theres little debate that he was the key player in MU’s success.
